We have completed our Adoption Petition. We had a form to follow that had suggestions and examples for creating this document. As soon as we sign it and get it notarized we will be able to check it off the list.(the real one looks much nicer than this. I copied and pasted and took out the personal info, which made it look a little sloppy.)

We have always had the desire to expand our family through adoption. We have researched many countries from which we might adopt a child. We have always been drawn to China and its rich culture. Due to our respect of Chinese history and the rich culture, we began researching the adoption program. As we researched we found that China has a very predictable, safe international adoption program. Based on our research, we desire to adopt a child from China.

Healthy/no known medical conditions
We understand and will accept our child despite temporary medical conditions.
Post-Adoption Commitment
We are aware of and will comply with the required 6 & 12 month post-adoption visits and reports.

Susan - after everything we went through with Makenna, we didn't tell many people but we were highly considering doing the same thing you are doing now. Obviously, God had other plans (aka Marlee Claire)....but part of me is sort of...jealous? But not in a bad way. In a..."I want to see the look on your face when you see her for the first time" way. Does that even make sense?
