Adopting a child won't change the world, but for that child, the world will change.

So, What Are We Waiting On??

As I am filling you with lots of historical background and knowledge of China and the adoption process, you might be wondering, So, what are you waiting on??  When are you going to get that girl??
Oh, if it were only that easy.  There is a process... always a process... that involves more paperwork and waiting.
Right now all of that information we submitted back in March (our dossier) is being translated, reviewed, approved, and then the Chinese Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA) is moving our file to the match room.  This is where they will officially match Brynn's file with our dossier.  When this is done, the CCAA will generate a Letter of Acceptance (LOA).  This is a big deal, and a huge step in the process.  They will overnight it to us for signatures, and then we will overnight it right back to them.  Right now the average wait time from Letter of Intent (the letter we typed and sent electronically to China petitioning to adopt Qian Ai Xin) to Letter of Acceptance is 50 days... we are on day  32 of our countdown...  when we get our LOA (after we rejoice) we will send in some more paperwork and wait...
So, the big question is WHEN ARE YOU GOING???  We just don't know.  We are guessing maybe December... but it all depends on the Chinese Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA) and how quickly they process our paperwork.
And while we wait, I will continue to check charts, graphs, averages, numbers, figures, data, and time lines that the wonderful ladies on our adoption forum create to help us all estimate when we will travel.  No worries, I will continue to fill you with lots of wonderful knowledge about China and their adoption process :)
